A 56 hectare greenfield site for approximately 1,300 homes (30% will be affordable), new primary school, community facilities, open space, allotment gardens, small hotel, shops and business space.
The site has been proposed as a national exemplar for the provision of “super-flexible homes”, and the masterplan recommends that this be pioneered at this site.
The objective is to ensure that Tattenhoe Park is developed in a sustainable way, reducing its impact upon the environment. A number of initiatives to achieve this are currently underway.
All HCA projects adopt level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes as a minimum. The required level of the Code will be increased to Code Level 4 from April 2010 and Code Level 6 from April 2013.
Main local infrastructure is complete and the primary school opened in September 2008. Work on the first residential development is expected to start on site in late 2010.
