Milton Keynes West
Tattenhoe Park - Flexible Housing
Location
Chaffron Way (H7).
Description
An important feature of the plans for Tattenhoe Park is the mandatory requirement that a minimum of 30% of all dwellings will be designed as flexible and extendable homes (FEH). This is in order to facilitate their fututre extension or adaption to meet ongoing family circumstances over time & to accommodate diverse communities & lifestyles.
Examples include people choosing to work from home, growing families, families with several generations living together and faith & community groups who might need additional space for social gathering in large groups.
Tattenhoe Park has outline planning consent for 1310 homes, a primary school (which opened in September 2008) and a local centre.
Development Stage
The first release is ready to go to market, but is on temporary hold while competing sites are disposed of.
Start Date
The first residential phase to be tendered in 2010.
Completion Date
The grid square should be completed by 2020.
Developer
There will eventually be six developers involved in flexible housing provision at Tattenhoe Park, the names of which will not be known until the individual phases are tendered – a process which will commence in 2010, and last for several years.
When Can I Have My Say?
Each of the six phases of development will also be subject to public consultation when full planning applications are submitted between 2009 and 2017.
