Brooklands
Location
The Eastern Expansion Area lies immediately adjacent to the west of the M1 Motorway. The site extends to the A421 to the south and the A1530 and Broughton Brook to the west. The site comprises a total of 405 hectares. There are a number of existing uses within the area including business and employment land and farm buildings but the site is generally low-lying, relatively flat land in agricultural use.
Description
Residential development of 2501 units, a new mixed use commercial centre, schools, community facilities, a hotel, a dedicated public transport route and public open space including an extension of the Broughton Brook Linear Park and construction of Brooklands Public Open Space Ridge.
Development Stage
Infrastructure under construction and work about to start on the first housing with first occupations expected late 2010. The first primary school is due to open in September 2010.

Work to start on construction of Brooklands Ridge
In one of the biggest landscaping projects that Milton Keynes has ever seen, construction work has started on phase one of the Brooklands Ridge. The Ridge will provide an important area of public open space for the new community that is being developed in the Eastern Expansion Area, as well as providing protection from motorway noise and pollution from the M1.

First phase of roads infrastructure gets the go ahead at Brooklands
Planning consent has been granted by Milton Keynes Partnership Committee for the first phase of roads infrastructure that will enable the delivery of 2501 new homes at Brooklands, the new community that is being developed in the Eastern Expansion Area.
